General UCARES Information
| David Mair, AD7GH, is the Emergency Coordinator for the Utah County ARES. He has the following Assistant Emergency Coordinators.

If you have any questions please contact a member of the Utah County ARES leadership by email, or following our weekly training nets held every Tuesday at 2100h (9pm) on the 147.34 repeater:
147.34 MHz + (100.0 Hz)
147.34 MHz + (141.3 Hz), when auxilliary repeater is active
UCARES Certification requirements can be found in the Downloads section. Though not required to join ARES, Certification Levels demonstrate the level of proficiency and equipment you have, and are considered by UCARES leadership when making assignments for public service events and callouts.
It is normal to see a mostly blank page after logging in to this site with your username and password for a while after creating an account. If the behavior persists please let one of us know so that we can fix the problem for you.
Joining the UCARES mailing list is easy. Once you have registered for a ucares.org account, log in with your username and password and you will see instructions at the top of this page on joining the mailing list.

Thursday July 3 Pre-Parade Mingle

This Thursday, July 3 is the Pre-Parade Mingle for those participating in the Freedom Festival Grand Parade.
The Sheriif's MICC will be in Staging and we will be giving out
assignments, t-shirts and issuing communication vests.
All parade volunteers need to come--between 4-8pm is best but we'll be there all night. Then you can scout out your assignment.
Staging is behind the Zion's Bank which is across the street from Provo High on University Avenue and the beginning of Canyon Road in Provo.

This Tuesday, July 1st is Interface at the Sheriff's Office North Annex
We will be talking about the Freedom Festival Grand Parade.
Topics covered will be: How to handle rogue vendors, missing parents, candy-throwing and free hugs.
Interface starts at 1900

Field Day 2008!

Utah County ARES will be sponsoring a Field Day Event Saturday June 28th at the Orem City Park from 12 PM to 8 PM. All UCARES members, hams, Non-hams, potential hams, friends, family, neighbors and/or co-workers of hams are invited. We will have various stations operating HF, VHF, phone, packet and other modes. The MICC will be on-site. Questions should be emailed to Scott Wilson w1byu@ucares.org

Squaw Peak 50 Race

Saturday, June 7th is the Squaw Peak 50 miler. This starts and finishes at Vivian Park after going through the Wasatch range over to Hobble Creek in Springville, up through Windy Pass and back down into the Provo Canyon again.
Radio Communicators are still needed. Aid Station locations/terrain are various as well as times. Contact Becky Clegg at elizabethdufleur@gmail.com or

Saturday May 31 TERT Outdoor Training

This is a reminder of the TERT Outdoor Training meeting that will be held this coming Saturday (May 31) at Aspen Grove trail head parking lot. New members be there at 0800 for a fun NEW MEMBER CLASS presented by John Moellmer. Everyone else be there ready to start at 0830.
There will be a number of things going on. Hopefully we will here from Ranger Steve Ashcraft and Dep. Collin Gordon from the Sheriff's Office. Expect the training to end around 1330.
Wade Starks will be taking pictures for ID cards and for his records so bring your best face.
Unless conditions melt quicker, the Alpine Loop is closed until June 7th, those of you at the north end of the County will have to come up the Aspen Grove side.
