TERT TRAINING

Training Days – TERT (Timpanogos Emergency Response Team)

Individuals with Medical or HAM radio needed.

Who:  If you love hiking in the mountains, serving your community, and have medical or amateur radio certifications, TERT may be for you!

What: TERT is a volunteer organization that is associated with the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, Utah County Search and Rescue, and the U.S. Forest Service to provide first aid and radio communications on Mount Timpanogos. It operates on weekends and holidays from June to September. (Open and close dates are determined by safety conditions.)

When: Each year TERT holds two focused training days:

  • INDOOR TRAINING, Saturday in March 16, 2019, at 0900 (0800 for new members), at the Utah Valley Hospital, Sorenson Tower 2nd floor East end. Park in parking terrace on north side of campus
  • OUTDOOR TRAINING, Saturday in April 27, 2019, at 0900 (0815 for new members) at Aspen Grove Trailhead at Theater-In-The-Pines (2 miles past Sundance Ski Resort)

Commitment: TERT is looking for reliable individuals with good outdoor sense who are medically certified or have, or are willing to attain, their amateur radio license. TERT members are required to attend training days and fill two weekend shifts per season. Weekend shifts usually last from Friday late afternoon to Sunday morning.
